On Saturday, Angola and Mauritania faced off in Group E of the Africa Cup of Nations, resulting in a 0-0 draw. This was Angola's second draw, while Mauritania, making their tournament debut, earned their first point.
Mali tops the group with four points from two games, while Tunisia, who will meet Mauritania next, has two points.
The match, played in Egypt, was the first without any goals, despite both teams coming close. Angola had a chance cleared off the line just after the 20-minute mark, and later, Gelson Dala passed across the face of the Mauritania goal, but substitute Wilson Eduardo steered the ball wide.
Mauritania improved significantly after their 4-1 loss to Mali in their debut game, but failed to create any clear chances. Their best effort fell to Adama Ba in the 60th minute, but his shot was blocked by Angola's Bruno Gaspar.
Angola will face Mali in their last game on Tuesday, while Mauritania will meet Tunisia at the same time.
