On Saturday, June 29, 2019, Dagoretti High School secured their spot in the national finals of the COPA Coca-Cola Under-16 Nairobi regional championship by defeating Upper Hill High School 1-0.
The winning goal was scored by Kubasu Abuyeka in the 16th minute, securing the win for Dagoretti and ending Upper Hill's hopes of retaining the trophy.
Upper Hill's coach, Gilbert Walusimbi, acknowledged that his team had a tough time due to the absence of three crucial players, Teddy Andrew, Salman Abdil Kadir, and Newton Ochieng, who were not feeling well.
Walusimbi expressed his team's disappointment and looked forward to next year's championship.
Meanwhile, in the ladies' finals, Dagorretti Mixed thrashed Pangani Girls High School 5-2 in a one-sided match.
