On June 28, 2019, the Jaguares made history by securing their first-ever Super Rugby final appearance after a thrilling 39-7 victory over the ACT Brumbies in the semi-finals.

Centre Matias Orlando praised the team's hard work and dedication, saying, 'The soul of this team is the special bond we have built. We worked harder than they did and we dominated them, we did not let them play, it's the effort we have been putting in for four years.'

The Argentine side, in only their fourth season in the competition, dominated the Australian conference champions from the start, scoring 20 unanswered points in the first 20 minutes.

Lock Guido Petti credited the team's focus and determination, saying, 'We knew it was going to be like this, we went out from the first minute and we steamrollered them.'

The victory marked the 11th win in 12 games for the South Africa conference champions, who had previously defeated several former Super Rugby champions.

Orlando added, 'During the week we decided to surprise them, and start like we did against the Chiefs but not let up. We did that for the first 20 minutes then we dropped off, but we came out in the second half to win the game.'
