Published on June 29, 2019, a tragic road accident occurred at Lwandeti area along the Eldoret-Malaba highway, claiming the lives of eight people.
The incident involved a North Rift Nissan vehicle that hit a motorcycle from behind before losing control and being hit by a transit goods trailer.
According to eyewitnesses, the motorbike lost control and was about to ram into a trailer when the trailer driver swerved to avoid hitting the cyclist, causing the trailer to collide with the North Rift vehicle, resulting in the instant deaths of eight people.
Webuye Base Commander Lwembe Rodgers confirmed the incident but referred further inquiries to her Turbo counterpart, who had yet to make an official statement on the fatal accident.
