Chile's hopes of a third consecutive Copa America title remain alive after they defeated Colombia 5-4 in a penalty shootout on Friday, advancing to the semifinals.
The match was scoreless after 90 minutes, with Chile dominating the proceedings but unable to find the back of the net due to two disallowed goals.
Chile's Charles Aranguiz had a goal ruled out in the first half for a marginal offside against Alexis Sanchez, while Arturo Vidal's shot on 70 minutes was disallowed for a handball against Guillermo Maripan.
However, Sanchez made up for his team's missed chances by scoring the winning penalty in the shootout, as Chile continued their Copa America dominance.
"We dominated practically the whole match. It was a great match against a team with a lot of quality," said Vidal.
Chile will now face either Uruguay or Peru in the semifinals, which will take place on Wednesday in Porto Alegre.
