On May 17, 2021, Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi joined the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party, ANC, marking a significant step in his political journey.
However, a photo taken on the same day has become the subject of social media attention, with many Kenyans making light of Havi's gaze in the direction of ANC official Tru Asembo.
Despite the lighthearted nature of the comments, Havi has asked Kenyans to stop sharing the image, stating that it was taken by the Presidential Press Service (PPS) and is therefore a public document.
“It is me in the picture with my good friend at ANC, Tru Asembo. Don’t send me the picture. I have it. It was taken by the Presidential Press Service (PPS) and it is, therefore, a public document. Just frame it and hung it hapo kwa sitting room yako,” Havi said in response to the viral photo.
As Havi continues to navigate his political ambitions, including his announcement to vie for the Westlands Parliamentary seat in 2022, the social media trend surrounding the photo has added a lighthearted touch to his public image.
