Published on May 3, 2021, several Kenyan celebrities have expressed interest in joining politics in the upcoming 2022 general elections.

Among them are social media influencers, actors, and radio presenters who have announced their intentions to run for various political seats.

One of the notable celebrities is Xtian Dela, a popular YouTuber and blogger who has won several awards, including the Best Personal Blog in the African Bloggers Awards in 2014.

He has announced his intention to run for a political seat in 2022, although the specific seat he will be vying for has not been disclosed.

Another celebrity who has expressed interest in joining politics is Saumu Mbuvi, the daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

She has announced her intention to run for the Nairobi Women Rep seat in the 2022 general elections.

Actors OJ Tahidi High and Jackie Maribe have also expressed interest in joining politics, with OJ Tahidi High likely to run for a Member Of The County Assembly (MCA) seat and Jackie Maribe likely to run for a parliamentary seat or a women rep seat for Muranga County.
