On Saturday, July 18, 2020, Kenyan international Michael Olunga made headlines in the Japanese top league with a brace that guided Kashiwa Reysol to their first win of the season.
Playing at the Sankyo Frontier Kashiwa Stadium, Olunga scored two goals as Kashiwa Reysol beat Shonan Belmare 3-2.
The former Gor Mahia striker headed in the opening goal in the 19th minute and made it 2-0 from the spot just before halftime.
However, Belmare pulled back with two late goals, but Kashiwa Reysol held on to secure the win.

With this win, Kashiwa Reysol snapped their four-match losing streak and moved up the standings to 14th place with three points from five matches.
Up next for Kashiwa is an away game against Urawa Reds at the Saitama Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Notably, Olunga scored 27 goals last season as Kashiwa Reysol earned promotion back to the J1 league.
