MP Didmus Barasa has made sensational claims that his Tanga Tanga camp has planted spies to monitor ODM leader Raila Odinga's activities.

Speaking in his constituency on July 4, 2020, Barasa assured supporters of Deputy President William Ruto not to worry, as they had put Raila in his place.

Barasa further disclosed that there were ongoing plans to persuade Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula and his ANC colleague Musalia Mudavadi to join forces with Ruto for the 2022 bid.

According to Barasa, Raila Odinga is currently in Dubai seeking treatment, and they are aware of his intentions.

Barasa's claims come after Deputy President William Ruto stated that he had his eyes strained on the top seat and would not be swayed by any cooperation deals that Jubilee signed with competing parties.

Speaking at a burial ceremony in Nandi county on Friday, July 3, Ruto noted the regroupings being witnessed in the ruling party as a clear indication that he was a force to reckon with.

Barasa's statement was met with a quote from Ruto, who said, "When you see them coming together because they want to stop me, It means I am not a weak candidate, just pray for me and you will see. They will be shocked,"
