Safaricom has announced a planned outage of M-PESA services for five hours on Thursday, June 25th, 2020, to pave the way for routine maintenance.
The shutdown, which will affect all MPESA-related transactions including airtime purchase, is scheduled to take place from midnight to 5 am.
According to Safaricom, the maintenance is necessary to support the continued transformation of millions of lives in Kenya, which M-PESA has been doing for over 13 years.
"The timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least of inconvenience to our customers," Safaricom said in a statement. "We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused and thank you for your continued support."
