Health CS Mutahi Kagwe's Son Kahu$h is a 'Very Good Rapper'

Published on June 23, 2020, at 12:37 PM

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has been spotted having a light moment discussing his youngest son, Kahu$h, a Kenyan rapper who is on the rise.

During an interview with Citizen TV's Sam Gituku, CS Kagwe revealed that his son's stage name 'Kahush' was borrowed from his official name 'Kahumburu'. He expressed pride in his son's musical talents, stating that he is a 'very good rapper'.

CS Kagwe jokingly said that after listening to Kahu$h's song 'Mi Siwezi', he implored his son to release another one with the title 'Mi naweza'. He also noted that he has allowed his children to be who they want to be, giving them the freedom to carve their own paths in life.

The CS's family has diverse talents, with his children including musicians Kahu$h and Kagwe Mungai, as well as a golfer, his nephew.

Kahu$h, whose real name is Kahumburu Mutahi, is a first-year student at Nottingham University. He gained public praise and attention following the release of his 2019 song 'Mi Siwezi', which became a hit during the COVID-19 period.

The song, released in November 2019 from his debut EP 'Trial and Error', attracted the attention of established acts like rap maestro Khaligraph Jones, who expressed interest in a remix.
