On June 10, 2020, Reading FC, a team featuring Kenyan winger Ayub Timbe on a season-long loan, faced off against English Premier League side Chelsea in a friendly match at the Cobham Training Ground.

Despite a strong effort, Reading ultimately fell to Chelsea by a single goal, with Spanish forward Pedro scoring the winning goal.

Both teams are gearing up for the resumption of their respective leagues, with Chelsea set to face Aston Villa on June 21 and Reading taking on Stoke City on June 20.

Timbe, who is on loan from Chinese side Beijing Renhe, is expected to return to Reading permanently at the end of the season.
