According to Kenya Power Managing Director Joseph Siror, the rollout will be done in phases across key urban areas such as Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa, Eldoret, Nakuru, and Nyeri, among others.
These locations were selected based on traffic flow, population density, and projected EV demand.

The charging stations will rely on Kenya’s clean energy mix, where over 90% of electricity is generated from renewable sources, including hydro, wind, geothermal, and solar.

The charging stations will feature both fast and standard chargers, compatible with different vehicle models and battery types.
Kenya Power has also confirmed partnerships with key private sector players and local authorities to ensure smooth implementation.
